Tips for maintaining your window decoration

Would you like to know what you have to do to maintain our window decorations properly? See the maintenance instructions below. They will help you to keep your window decorations beautiful for longer. If in doubt, do not hesitate to contact one of our retail outlets

Roller blinds
You can clean a roller blind made of polyester (PES), Trevira CS or ecological polyester (Eco-PES) by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth. The other fabrics can be cleaned using a soft brush or feather duster. Always use a non-synthetic detergent and lukewarm water. Avoid scrubbing or rubbing hard as this will damage your roller blind’s protective surface. Please note:

·         Decorative accessories such as rings and wooden bottom slats must not   come into contact with water.
·         Fabrics with a metallised coating may only be dry cleaned to avoid damage.

Duo roller blinds
Duo roller blinds should be cleaned by gently brushing them with a soft brush. Take account of the fact that the fabric is very delicate.

Venetian blinds
You can clean your wooden or aluminium horizontal blinds by simply brushing them with a soft brush when they are closed. You can also use a vacuum cleaner at its lowest setting, fitted with a dusting brush. If the slats are dirtier, you can wipe them with a damp cloth. Be careful with the ladder cords or ladder tapes, as these are easily damaged.

Please note: make sure that the inside of the headrail does not get wet.

Pleated and honeycomb blinds
You will find information on how to care for your pleated or honeycomb blind in the washing instructions that come with the blinds. If you are unsure whether your pleated or honeycomb blind can be washed, avoid taking any risk by consulting a window decoration specialist.

Please note: you cannot wash room-darkening honeycomb blind fabrics or metallised pleated blinds as these must not get wet.

Vertical blinds
All fabric vanes can be washed by hand. There are also fabric vanes that can be washed in the washing machine. If you are unsure whether your fabric vertical blinds are washing machine safe, do not take any risk and consult a window decoration specialist.

Vinyl and aluminium slats can be wiped with a damp cloth.

Roman blinds
The fabrics can be cleaned according to the washing instructions that can be found on every Roman blind. The washing instructions can also be found on the fabric samples.
Carry out the following steps before washing:
1.    Remove the slats from the Roman blind.
2.    Take the cords off the Roman blind.
3.    Remove the fabric from the headrail.

Curtains
There are washing instructions on each curtain, telling you how to clean it. Carry out the following steps before washing:
1.    Remove the curtain hooks.
2.    After washing, always hang the curtain up wet.
Butterfly blinds
Butterfly blinds should be cleaned using a feather duster or a slightly damp cloth. When using a damp cloth, avoid rubbing hard and do not use any cleaning products.

Panel tracks
For regular maintenance you can clean the fabric of your panel tracks using a soft brush or feather duster. If the fabric is dirtier, you can clean it carefully with a slightly damp cloth. Always use a non-synthetic detergent and lukewarm water. Avoid scrubbing or rubbing hard as this will damage your panel track’s protective surface. Please note:
·         Decorative accessories such as aluminium bottom slats must not come into contact with water.
·         Fabrics with a metallised coating may only be dry cleaned to avoid damage.
