Trends & Design

Every year, B&C’s Creative Directors Alex Speelman and Meindert Bos develop a trend forecast, influenced by developments in lifestyle, technology and food. Their trend forecast gives a vision on trends for colors, materials and design in interior. Meindert Bos (1968) has studied on the Academy of Art and is specialized in architectural design. With his broad experience in the world of commercial communication and his original look on trends he always finds new ways to inspire people.
Alex Speelman (1951) has studied Interior Architecture in Amsterdam. More than thirty years ago Alex Speelman started as a designer at B&C Raamdecoratie. Besides his job as Creative Director of B&C, Alex is continuously following trends in interior design.
Ferdinand Hartgers (1982) has studied Fashion Design at College of Art in Utrecht. As a conceptual designer he is an essential part of the team, with his expertise in fashion and textiles.

Boris Pris (1989) has joined B&C after he graduated as Industrial Design Engineer at University of Twente. As creative assistant of B&C, Boris combines his passion for product design and technology and knowledge of consumer behavior.

The theme of 2017’s trend forecast is Upturn. In 2017 everything will change even more, and that change is not the result of external factors, but comes from within us. The means that got us to success are not the means that will bring us further growth. We have to change the way we think and act to become unique in the market.
